Mark your calendar for Club Day, January 18, 2014. This event will be for U8 to U14 boys and girls teams.
For the event, there will be a moonwalk, music, and prizes!
In addition to in-house soccer games, AHFC players (U8 to U12) will be able to compete in skill challenges.
There will be 5 stations. Players will move between stations, get their score, and turn in their cards to the check out table. Top skill champion in each age and gender will receive a trophy announcing their awesome achievement.
The 5 stations will be:
- Juggling (Highest number, any soccer body part)
- Head Juggling (Highest number, head only)
- Dribbling (2 tries.Timed going through flags, 1 yard apart)
- Passing (Pass 3 balls through gates; gain points; timed in case of ties)
- Shooting accuracy (Shoot ball into specific areas the goal; timed in case of ties)
Overall winner will be recognized as the skill champion for their age and gender.
In addition to everything above, we will have drawings for all participating players to win soccer balls. The highlight will be the ability for players to win an official World Cup 2014 Brazuca soccer ball ($160 value).
The skills competition will begin at 9 am and run until 2 pm at Katy Park with players choosing when they want to compete. Make sure not to arrive at the last moment as there may be a line of those waiting to participate in the skill challenges.
A game schedule will be forthcoming for any in-house games that will be played.
Make sure to practice during the Christmas break for this event, and we will see everyone back at practice the week of January 13th, 2014!
